I am confused about teams

Hey! So I am bit confused about how teams in dungeons and overworld works. My team is Rebecca (Main), MC and Berry.Now in dungeons it's simple since the AI partners can just hold 1 weapon which we can select in team preset while the Main holds 2 weapons as usual.
