i've come to say that my 'Remanent Reminiscence' research is going awful
the writers were assholes for how deep that damn rabbit hole goes
the word of the day is hydrolysis
Theory-crafted medium SPOILERS:
---2026/06/15
me, having a showerthought: the intended meaning behind Remanent Reminiscence's name would give away the player & Charon's 'plot reveal' origins.
me, 1 second later: Lunos are descendants of Embla, possibly fragments.
which makes Lunoegg an interesting one... 🤔 [thinking emoji]
me, 3 seconds later: Ask and Embla are the Charon and Lunos respectively.
Ask's Retribution is an obvious clue ('cause where'd that Mass Effect shit even come from?). Remanent Reminiscence's
possible meaning of 'the remainder of an ideal form's division'very high likelihood of referencing the splitting and combining of chemicals certifies it for me. why are the Charons the only ones capable of supernatural shit? why do they all have strange spines? why are they able to effectively duplicate themselves into becoming more powerful (like weapons can)?
it could also be a sword with two different meanings (which would track with the Duet shit) 😐 [neutral face emoji]😭[loudly crying emoji]
as for Embla, with the above all stated it's kinda obvious
also:> Lunos never harm.also also: Snow's the Lunos' Vita/Mors (see below, not making this longer)
...me, after re-reading the first paragraph: the Charons are descendants of Ask, but Vita & Mors are-
me, remembering the Sand Realm (and the bone of my sword): 😑 [expressionless face emoji]
it's chemicals. the first meaning is chemical related, especially in regards to the Duet and waifus/husbandos/childus/childos. the second refers to Platonism.
as for chemicals, the Charon-
...me, after typing the above: either 1) the Charons are descendants of Ask while Vita & Mors are splits of Ask or 2) the Charons are descendants of Ask's fragments and Vita & Mors are splits of Ask's core
either way, the Duet are basically their de-aged forgot-everything parents... and damn near nobody knows
i don't hate y'all's writers, but i do low-key dislike 'em for doing this to me
no, i didn't choose this life. what do you mean?
2026/06/05:
reminded me of the conclusions i'm coming to from research i'm doing into Vita's sword name
feels like a lore dump of a plot spoiler is hidden in those two words
current contenders (for self-explanatory renames) (and i'm only half-way through the analytical part; collecting and organizing definitions was time consuming as hell):
- Delayed Comprehension
delayed ascension to a perfect ideal form
Ascension's Remnant
Ascension's Tribute
Plato's Creed (would fit hellas if this was Kingdom Hearts)
Ascension's Left Overs (🤷🏿♂️ [dark-skinned man shrugging emoji])
the remainder of an ideal form's division

I thought Vita was a reincarnation/similar of Mother Embla and Mors was the same but of Father Ask, since “Vita” means life/is default female and “Mors” means death/is default male
