🎮 Gaming Phone Question

308 Browse · 6/Nov./2025

Hey folks! I’m now looking to upgrade my phone and want something that handles intense games like Duet Night Abyss (as well as other demanding titles) really well. I’m torn between three contenders:

Oneplus 15:

Iqoo 15:

Realme:

Realme GT 8 Pro], [iQOO 15], and [OnePlus 15].

Here are the key specs that matter for gaming—and my question: Which would you pick and why?

📋 Key Specs That Matter for Gaming

(so we’re all on the same page)

A high-refresh display (120Hz/144Hz or more) + low touch-sampling = smoother and more responsive gameplay.

A top-tier chipset + GPU = better frame-rates / less lag when graphics are heavy.

Big battery + good charging = longer gaming sessions + faster recharge when you stop.

Good thermal/control system = less throttling under load.

Sufficient RAM & fast storage = smoother multitasking, faster loading.

+ I am looking for some interesting gaming features

📱 The Phones & Their Specs

Realme GT 8 Pro

Display: ~6.79″ QHD+ 2 K OLED, up to 144 Hz refresh.

Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 + dedicated R1 graphics chip for gaming.

Battery & Charging: 7,000 mAh battery + 120 W wired (and wireless support) charging in Pro variant.

Other Gaming-Relevant: High refresh display, very strong specs for gaming and multitask.

iQOO 15

Display: 6.85″ 2 K AMOLED, up to 144 Hz refresh, touch sampling rate claimed up to 300 Hz in gaming mode.

Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 + Adreno 840 GPU.

Battery & Charging: 7,000 mAh with 100 W wired + 40 W wireless charging.

Other Gaming-Relevant: Big display, high refresh and very strong internals.

OnePlus 15

Display: 6.78″ LTPO AMOLED, 1.5K resolution, ~165 Hz refresh rate.

Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 + up to 16 GB LPDDR5x + UFS 4.1 storage.

Battery & Charging: 7,300 mAh battery + support for 120 W wired + 50 W wireless charging.

Other Gaming-Relevant: Slightly lower resolution compared to 2K but very high refresh rate – good for gaming.

🤔 My Question to the Community

Given all this, which one would YOU pick for playing Duet Night Abyss + other heavy titles, and why?

Is the 2 K resolution worth it (Realme / iQOO) over the 1.5K of OnePlus?

Does one of these feel more “future-proof” for gaming (chipset + cooling + refresh) than the others?

What about price, availability, Indian service/support—does that affect your pick? And I tried to add realme images but I've reached the limit...

Yeah but it's expensive for the specs right?

If you want cheaper iPhone with pro specs, go for IPhone Air.

well to be fair PC is more future proof....
oneplus 15 : chosen for lifetime green line replacement and peace of mind with high tier gaming and great cameras with best UI ever possible (yeah its best ui for now)

iqoo 15 : Screen is top notch, having better ui now, even being performance centric has much better cameras. you gonna enjoy playing in it really cause it has greater cooling

gt 8 : miui is worse compares to these 2 but it still offers top notch performance.

@Xeo I suggest you Oneplus 15 (best between those) > IQOO15 (best screen and best performance) > GT 8

If u are only buying to be able to play demanding games, I'd suggest having a pc as a priority but anyways... amongst these options, I'd pick iQOO any day. I had the iqoo 13 which I just recently sold and it's performance and battery just blew my mind plus with origin os I'm pretty positive it'd be a better deal than the other two.
