Why would you want to keep them? That makes absolutely no sense. Not using them means you wont progress in the game. Use 'em. Thats the only way youll get new weapons and characters.
While you collect character shards and weapon blueprints, youll be able to collect more secret letters.
When youll do stages to get money and upgrade materials, youll get secret letters.
You get secret letters by completing achievements.
Sometimes youll even get secret letters simply by defeating monsters.
